T. Scott King defended Banfield veterinarians Kelsie Leavitt of Banfield Scottsdale 1864 and Sarah Rios of Banfield Tucson 1908 in separate complaints.
In Leavitt's case, a dog on the Active Care Plus Wellness plan showed up on a busy day to an allegedly overworked Leavitt. Leavitt diagnosed the dog with a loud heart murmur and fluid in the lungs but sent the dog home. The dog was later taken to an emergency facility and successfully fought for life. For this particular case, initial representation before the Investigative Committee appears to have been provided by Jay Jacobson.
In Rios' case, a dog on the Optimum Wellness Plan was dropped off with an ear infection. When the dog was discharged, the animal was allegedly in a very distraught and confused state, running around in circles with blood dripping from the ear as a result of a therapeutic ear hair shave.
T Scott King defended veterinarians in about 1.1% of cases in our Tails of Woe.
